Inter striker Lautaro Martinez’s former youth coach Fabio Redaelli has admitted he has never doubted the 21-year-old and praised him for taking the decision to join Inter over other sides who were interested in him.

“When he has played he has always did very well and has scored in many games. I never had any doubts about him. He made a considerable decision by choosing Inter, one of the most important teams in the world.

“He was right to pick Inter. Today Inter count upon him and he continues to be called up for the Argentine national team.

Redaelli also spoke on Mauro Icardi and his situation at Inter.

“For me he is a magnificent attacker. I read that Inter could sell him. He too is part of the Argentina national team. Who wouldn’t want him on their team?”

He concluded by speaking briefly on Rodrigo de Paul, who is seemingly set to join Inter this Summer.

“He has a barbaric technique about his game and a huge amount of quality. He is skilled with the ball. He is a boy I have fond memories of, it is a pity I only got to coach him for a little time.”
