Champions League Worth €63m To Begin With For Inter

Champions League qualification is worth an initial €63 million to Inter according to a report from Gazzetta dello Sport.

The Nerazzurri head into the final game of the season with Empoli currently occupying a Champions League qualification place and a win will secure them their place in Europe’s top continental competition for next season.

Qualification on its own will bring in €50 million to the club, a decent sum of money that the club could put toward financing some of their transfer dealings.

The report from the Milan based newspaper goes on to detail that the Nerazzurri will pocket a further €13 million through a few of their sponsors.

Shirt sponsor Pirelli will give Inter €6 million whilst Nike and owners Suning themselves will both give Inter approximately €3 million each to reach the €13 million.

Gazzetta also report that failing to qualify for the Champions League and thus ending up in the Europa League would not be as big a disaster as it seems, especially compared to had Inter done it for this season.

The club would certainly be more limited than if they were in the Champions League but exiting the UEFA settlement agreement has allowed for some more financial freedom.
