Luciano Spalletti knows he does not have long left managing the club but is still awaiting for official word from the club management according to a report from Gazzetta dello Sport.
Unless a severance package is agreed, Spalletti’s sacking will cost the club a gross sum of €25 million. This sum also includes all of his staff, who will follow him out of the club.
Spalletti’s future at the club has been speculated about for months now and it will not come as a surprise to anyone once the official confirmation arrives which will put an end to his two-year tenure in charge at the club, who he led to Champions League qualification each year.
The report from the Milan based newspaper goes on to report that upon being sacked, the former Roma manager will take a sabbatical.
Former Italian national team manager Antonio Conte is expected to be his successor and many reports have suggested his arrival could be made official by the end of the week.
