Antonio Conte’s arrival coupled with the sacking of Luciano Spalletti will cost Inter around about €70 million according to a report from Il Sole 24 Ore.

Conte’s appointment will cost Inter approximately €50 million between his €9 million annual salary for three years plus taxes. Spalletti’s sacking will meanwhile cost Inter €15 million between his salary and taxation for a total outlay of €65 million.

Should Inter find an agreement over severance pay with Spalletti, who was sacked this morning, costs could come down slightly.

The report from the business newspaper goes on to state that Inter could look to make the most of the recent changes to the Italian taxation system when it comes to Conte.

Changes mean that anyone coming to live in Italy, having not done so for the previous two years, can only be taxed a maximum of 30% for the next five years, providing they stay in the country for at least two years.
