Antonio Conte’s appointment as Inter head coach could be enough to persuade Federico Chiesa to join the Nerazzurri instead of Juventus, according to Corriere della Sera.
Chiesa had all but chosen to sign for the Bianconeri up until a month ago but is now said to be ‘tempted’ by Conte’s charm offensive.
The 21-year-old is in constant dialogue with father Enrico as he prepares to take part in Italy’s Euro 2020 qualifiers next week, with a final decision still some way off.
“It’s difficult for the Fiorentina star to concentrate on matters on the pitch at the moment,” the paper reported today.
“It looks like it’s going to be a stressful June for him.”
Fiorentina are due to change hands soon from the Della Valle family to American billionaire Rocco Commisso, which means the club’s position on Chiesa is unclear.
Commisso does not want to anger supporters within weeks of his arrival by selling the club’s most talented player, so Chiesa will have to take responsibility for his actions and put his foot down to secure a move.
