Fiorentina’s new owner Rocco Commisso is expected to make a last-ditch attempt to convince Federico Chiesa to remain at the club, according to Gazzetta dello Sport.

Inter are known to be interested in signing the 21-year-old forward, although Juventus are ahead after agreeing personal terms with the player last week.

Commisso will complete a takeover from the Della Valle family at the weekend and has not lost hope of changing his star player’s mind.

“Fiorentina could reach an agreement with Chiesa by renewing his contract for another season with a substantial increase in wages,” Gazzetta reported this morning.

“Federico could also sell his image rights to the Viola as part of the deal, meaning he would essentially be offered the same amount of money being offered to him elsewhere.

“Perhaps the forward could also seek assurances from the club’s new owner about his future next season, asking for freedom of choice if Fiorentina fail to qualify for Europe again.

“We’ll have to wait and see.”
