Flamengo Vice President Wallim Vasconcellos has sent a clear message regarding the future of Inter owned Brazilian striker Gabriel ‘Gabigol’ Barbosa, when speaking exclusively to Globoesporte.

According to Vasconcellos, Flamengo have the financial capacity to sign Gabigol on a permanent basis from Inter, if the player himself wishes to stay.

“We have more and more money but it all depends. For example regarding Gabigo, if he were to receive an offer from China where he can earn a lot, we will have to sign another striker of the highest caliber.”

“But it is up to him to decide if he wants to stay with us, we now have the money to sign him, there are no doubts about this. We have the money to build a squad of the highest level. Flamengo has a lot of credibility.”

Gabigol is currently on loan with Flamengo until the end of December of this year.
