Inter could miss out on the signing of Manchester United full-back Matteo Darmian after Valencia made an enquiry with the player’s entourage, Sky Sport reported last night.
Darmian made just six league appearances for the Red Devils last season as they finished outside the Champions League places and were knocked out of Europe by Barcelona.
The Italian international has been longing for a return to his home country for some time, with Inter linked frequently during the last few transfer windows.
However, Valencia’s approach could ensure Darmian once again fails to complete a move to San Siro this summer.
Manchester United asked Inter for €12 million when they made an approach back in January but it is unclear whether their price will have changed since then.
Darmian has made 36 appearances for Italy and was part of the squad that reached the quarter-finals at Euro 2016 under new Inter head coach Antonio Conte.
