Inter Meet D’Ambrosio’s Agent To Begin Contract Talks

Inter began talks with Danilo D’Ambrosio’s agent this afternoon over a contract extension for the defender, according to Sky Sport.

The Nerazzurri’s management met Vincenzo Pisacane to start negotiations for a new deal that would tie the 30-year-old until the club until 2022.

D’Ambrosio’s current contract expires in 2021 and would leave Inter at risk of losing him on the cheap without an extension this summer.

The parties will meet each other again in the coming days to try and sort out the finer details of the agreement.

D’Ambrosio arguably enjoyed his greatest season since joining Inter during the 2018-19 campaign, scoring twice and providing five assists in 38 appearances.

The defender played a key role in securing Inter’s Champions League qualification for next year, saving victories against Milan and Empoli with last-minute goal-line clearances.

It remains to be see whether new head coach Antonio Conte intends to use D’Ambrosio as a wing-back or at centre-back in a three-man defence.
