Inter Chief Executive Marotta Warns Wanda Nara: “Social Media Is Dangerous”

Inter CEO Beppe Marotta sent an indirect warning to Wanda Nara last night when highlighting the dangers of using social media.

Mauro Icardi’s wife and agent has irritated the club on various occasions with comments on Instagram and Twitter, eventually leading Marotta to conclude Inter must sell him this summer.

Speaking at a leadership event in Milan last night, the 62-year-old appeared to advise Wanda not to get carried away when posting messages on the internet.

“We can’t control social media because they’re part of players’ private lives, as well as those of their parents,” Marotta said.

“We can’t stop people using Instagram or Twitter, but we need people to understand social media is fun but also dangerous.

“It’s a new realm of life which didn’t exist in the past. We didn’t even have telephones when I first started in football…”

Marotta then explained what he understood by the idea of leadership, as he and Inter’s new head coach Antonio Conte look to create a squad with a winning mentality for next season.

“The most important quality a leader must have is adaptability,” Marotta added.
