Inter’s CEO Beppe Marotta will meet Cagliari owner Tommaso Giulini tomorrow in a bid to finalise a deal for Nicolo Barella, according to La Nuova Sardegna.
Giulini last week said the 22-year-old had not agreed personal terms with any club, but reports from Milan suggested Barella had approved a five-year deal with the Nerazzurri for €2.5 million per season.
Cagliari want €50 million for the midfielder and Inter will have to match that valuation between cash and other players.
“If Inter offer €36 million, Federico Dimarco on a permanent deal and Alessandro Bastoni on loan with an option and counter-option to buy, it’s possible a deal will be agreed,” the Sardinian paper reported.
“If they don’t then talks could sensationally fall apart and at that point other clubs could enter the race, with Paris Saint-Germain and Juventus in pole position.”
Marotta and Giulini’s meeting is likely to be decisive as Inter seek their first signing of the summer for head coach Antonio Conte.
