Inter will send representatives to Switzerland on Monday in support of Italy’s bid to host the 2026 Winter Olympics, according to Tuttosport.
Club president Steven Zhang and chief executive officer Alessandro Antonello will attend the 134th session of the International Olympic Committee in Lausanne, where the hosts are due to be announced.
Milan and Cortina d’Ampezzo have submitted a joint bid that would see San Siro host the opening ceremony, regardless of whether planned renovation work takes place.
Milan will send owner Paolo Scaroni to Lausanne while former Italy and Inter boss Marcello Lippi is also expected to attend.
The Nerazzurri’s former president Erick Thohir is now involved with the IOC and will have a say in deciding where the games go.
Former World Cup alpine ski racer Alberto Tomba will be at the ceremony as well, along with Italy’s Prime Minister Giuseppe Conte.
Italy could have hosted the 2024 Summer Olympics but Rome withdrew their candidature before the final decision was made.
