Ex-Inter Defender Ferri: “Antonio Conte Will Bring A Sea Change To Club”

Antonio Conte’s appointment as Inter head coach marks a turning point in the club’s recent history, according to the Nerazzurri’s former defender Riccardo Ferri.

Conte held his first press conference yesterday before setting off for Inter’s summer training camp in Switzerland, which began today.

Ferri described the former Juventus boss as ‘practical and essential’, admitting he was not surprised at his reluctance to discuss the transfer market.

“It seems like things have changed compared to previous seasons,” Ferri told Tutti Convocati on Radio 24.

“Conte’s comments about how players would have to leave if they did not follow his orders were a message to the wider world, but they were also directed towards the dressing room.

“He seems to have completely immersed himself in the club’s project.”

Inter will play Lugano in their first preseason friendly on Sunday before jetting off to Asia for their summer tour.

The new Serie A campaign begins on 24 August with the fixture schedule to be released at the end of July.
