Edin Dzeko is a lonely man at Roma’s preseason training camp because the forward knows he will not play for the Giallorossi this year, according to Sky Sport.

The Bosnian turned up as normal for the first day of work on Tuesday but he has long since decided to join Inter.

The Nerazzurri have been in talks with Roma for several weeks but the clubs are still nowhere near reaching an agreement.

Dzeko will have to hope they can agree a deal soon or he will have to stay in the capital for longer.

Inter were also linked with a move for Aleksandar Kolarov last month, with reports Beppe Marotta was seeking a low-cost option at left-back.

However, the Serbian international has asked to stay at Roma and therefore seems all but certain not to join up with Antonio Conte.

Conte hopes Dzeko and Romelu Lukaku can sign as quickly as possible but Roma and Manchester United are still driving hard bargains.
