Inter Will Tell Miranda He Is For Sale When Defender Returns

Inter will tell Joao Miranda they intend to sell him when the defender returns from his summer holidays, according to Tuttosport.

Miranda helped Brazil win the Copa America and told reporters during the tournament he was considering staying with the Nerazzurri, despite having only one year left on his contract.

The centre-back has no future at the club though and this will be confirmed to him when he turns up for preseason training.

Inter will begin the search for a solution that satisfies both them and the player, although Miranda’s €3.5 million salary makes it unlikely he will return to Brazil.

Antonio Conte appeared to publicly snub the 34-year-old during his press conference on Sunday when discussing the defensive options at his disposal.

Danilo D’Ambrosio, Andrea Ranocchia and Alessandro Bastoni were all name-checked alongside Diego Godin, Milan Skriniar and Stefan De Vrij, but Miranda was conspicuously left off the list.

Miranda made just 14 league appearances under Luciano Spalletti last season, falling behind De Vrij and Skriniar in the pecking order at centre-back.
