Inter have all but beaten off competition from Roma to sign Nicolò Barella for around €45 million, Sky Sport reported last night.
However, Italian journalist Maurizio Pistocchi has now claimed Cagliari had also agreed a deal for the midfielder with Napoli.
The Partenopei supposedly offered €30 million in cash plus Adam Ounas and Marko Rog, making an overall valuation of €46 million.
Barella will join the Nerazzurri in any case, having been clear on his preferred destination throughout the summer.
