Antonio Conte will have to wait until Inter’s final preseason friendly before he can see Lautaro Martinez in action, according to Tuttosport.
The 21-year-old has only just begun his summer holidays after helping Argentina to a third-place finish in the Copa America, meaning he will return for training on 28 July.
Inter’s International Champions Cup match against Tottenham will come too early for Lautaro on 4 August, meaning he should make his debut against Valencia six days later.
The Nerazzurri will face Manchester United, Juventus and Paris Saint-Germain before that as they follow their Swiss training camp with a tour of Asia.
Conte told reporters he ‘could not wait’ to start working with Lautaro during his press conference on Sunday, but at the moment he only has Matteo Politano to coach up front.
Alessandro Bastoni, Federico Dimarco and Nicolò Barella – assuming the midfielder completes a move from Cagliari first – will join up with the first team two weeks earlier than El Toro, having played for Italy at the under-21 Euros last month.
All three will arrive in time to fly to Singapore with the rest of the first team, while Kwadwo Asamoah will turn up in August after Ghana were knocked out of the Africa Cup of Nations last night.
