Despite Manchester United’s exorbitant demands, Inter remain optimisitic than they can complete the signing of striker Romelu Lukaku over the course of the Summer transfer window according to a report from Gazzetta dello Sport.

The two clubs recently met in London to hold talks over the Belgian, who is believed to be the club’s number one transfer target.

Inter managed to convince Manchester United to accept a defferred payment but the Premier League side only accepted a payment in two instalments, rather than three as Inter would have liked. More talks could however happen next week with the two clubs set to meet in the International Champions Cup.

The report from the Milan based newspaper has also pointed out that the 26-year-old, who already has an agreement in principle with Inter over personal terms, has been excluded from United’s coverage of their pre-season.

He is not appearing in the club’s photos that they post and the report also states that he is in fact living separately to the rest of his teammates.
