FC Lugano’s president believes Inter have given the entire city ‘a shot in the arm’ by holding their preseason training camp there.
Antonio Conte will take charge of his first match as the Nerazzurri’s head coach against the Swiss club on Sunday, for which more than 7,000 tickets have sold.
Angelo Renzetti told Sky Sport he was ‘very proud’ to have Inter in town and thanked the club for giving Lugano more visibility.
“It’s a source of pride to have such an important club here in our city, a real celebration,” Renzetti said.
“This summer camp has been exceptional because it’s given us more publicity as well as the city. We’re very pleased about that.”
Conte has a reputation for being extremely demanding of everybody around him and insisted Inter’s training sessions were held behind closed doors.
Renzetti assured it wasn’t difficult to satisfy all his requests, though, before joking he would love to appoint the Italian for his own club.
“We’re very precise here in Switzerland as well,” he added.
“We like to ensure everything is done well so you could say we’re a bit like Conte. If I could sign anyone from Inter it would be him.
“I can say that because it’s only a fantasy…”
