Marotta Wants Release Clauses Removed In Inter Contracts

From Tuesday onward, Inter chief executive Giuseppe ‘Beppe’ Marotta will start work on removing release clauses from the contracts of Inter’s stars according to a report from Tuttosport.

Currently Lautaro Martinez, Mauro Icardi and Marcelo Brozovic all have release clauses in their contracts, all of which are active from July 1 to July 15 each year. The release clauses are €111 million, €110 million an €60 million respectively.

Marotta has never been a fan of release clauses in contracts and prefers for the club to have more control in negotiations meaning he will look to get the clauses out of Lautaro and Brozovic’s contracts when it comes to holding talks over new contracts.

As for Icardi, his release clause ultimately means little as this stage due to the fact his value has plummetted significantly in recent months.

Icardi has already been told he is no longer deemed as part of the Inter project and reports suggest Inter would take between €60-70 million for him.
