According to the latest reports from La Gazzetta dello Sport, Inter directors have decided with Suning that Mauro Icardi must be sold regardless of whether any interested party meets their 60 million euro asking price or not. Communication between club and player has completely broken down and the Nerazzurri hierarchy have decided to cut their losses on the Argentine: quite simply, they just want rid of him now.
Meanwhile, talks to bring Edin Dzeko to San Siro are continuing but the deal is progressing very slowly indeed. Inter have no intention of meeting Roma’s 20 million euro asking price for the Bosnian, simply because they know that will simply finance the Giallorossi’s pursuit of Juventus striker Gonzalo Higuain. Furthermore, Higuain’s departure would also enable the Bianconeri to make their move for Icardi – a situation Inter would like to avoid if at all possible.
As things stand, there is a complete impasse and it remains to be seen which side will blink first.
