Inter will appoint Jaime Colas as their new commercial director soon, according to AS in Spain.

Colas was in charge of Real Madrid’s global sponsorship strategy until June and played a key role in improving the club’s finances.

His role at Inter will involve overseeing sponsorship, ticket prices and merchandising and ensuring they increase the Nerazzurri’s revenue streams.

The paper did not provide any detail on when his arrival would be officially confirmed.

Inter’s decision to appoint Colas provides further confirmation of their commitment to expanding the club’s brand.

President Steven Zhang yesterday told Corriere della Sera they were aiming to reach €1 billion in annual turnover during the next few years.

Building a new San Siro will help them achieve this aim but it remains to be seen whether Inter and AC Milan will get the green light from Milan’s city council.

Suning bought a 68.55% majority stake in Inter back in 2016 and have since tripled the club’s revenue.
