Stefano Sensi and Marcelo Brozovic’s understanding in midfield is the most positive development to have emerged from Inter’s preseason tour in Asia, according to Gazzetta dello Sport.
Sensi joined the Nerazzurri on a loan deal from Sassuolo and was not greeted with overwhelming enthusiasm by supporters.
However, the 23-year-old already looks at home in his new surroundings and has staked a strong claim to start when Serie A action begins.
“If Sensi and Brozovic build on what we’ve seen in these friendlies it will be difficult to separate them,” Gazzetta reported this morning.
“It’s too early to pass definitive judgment, certainly, but the speed with which Sensi has settled into the side – in a position that’s not exactly his best – is a sign of real encouragement.”
Antonio Conte is monitoring the pair very closely in training, studying their movements and occasionally asking them to swap positions.
Brozovic tends to drop deep in order to start a new attack while Sensi moves further up the pitch and provides a forward passing option.
Both players started in Macao on Saturday as Inter drew with Paris Saint-Germain, before winning 6-5 on penalties.
