Inter Revive Interest For Atalanta Forward Zapata Amid Striker Emergency

Inter have revived their interest for Atalanta striker Duvan Zapata as the Nerazzurri’s desperate search for a centre-forward continues, according to Sport Mediaset.

The Colombia international is the club’s first alternative if their bid to sign Romelu Lukaku fails, which now appears certain as he edges towards Juventus.

Zapata will reportedly cost €60 million after a spectacular season under Gian Piero Gasperini, scoring 23 goals to help them qualify for the Champions League.

Ante Rebic remains an equally serious option, though, despite Eintracht Frankfurt’s purported €40 million asking price.

The TV station also reported Inter would attempt to arrange a swap deal with Fiorentina, involving Cristiano Biraghi and Borja Valero, according to Sport Mediaset.

Biraghi came through the Nerazzurri’s youth system and made 36 league appearances for the Viola last season.

Valero is in talks with Fiorentina over a surprise return because he is not part of Antonio Conte’s plans.

Radja Nainggolan was also linked with a move to Florence, but he will instead complete a return of his own to Cagliari soon.
