Inter President Zhang & CEO Marotta Reiterate Club’s Position In Meeting With Mauro Icardi

Inter’s leadership met with former Nerazzurri captain Mauro Icardi today at the club’s training ground, and told him that the Argentinian striker is not in the club’s plans, Italian broadcaster Sky Sport Italia’s transfer market expert Gianluca Di Marzio reports.

According to the report, Inter President Steven Zhang and club CEO Beppe Marotta, met with the former Sampdoria striker to reiterate once again that they consider him to no longer be part of the club’s plans, confirming what Nerazzurri coach Antonio Conte stated after the win last night against Lecce.

There is no news whether or not any new meetings are scheduled between the player’s agent and wife Wanda Nara and the Nerazzurri directors to resolve the situation, but it is clear that Inter have not changed their minds regarding the exclusion of their former captain.

Wanda Nara had suggested on Sunday that maybe someone at the club had urged Icardi to stay, but this was vehemently denied by Beppe Marotta before the match.
