Inter CEO Marotta Was The ‘King Of The Transfer Market’

Corriere dello Sport have crowned Inter chief executive Giuseppe ‘Beppe’ Marotta the ‘king of the transfer market’ following the business Inter conducted over the Summer.

Inter made no less than seven new signings for the first-team during the Summer window and Marotta also managed to help the club offload several unwanted players, most notably Mauro Icardi, Radja Nainggolan and Ivan Perisic.

“Inter did everything and more in the transfer window. Starting with the Romelu Lukaku signing, who they added for €65 millionwhich will be paid in five installments. They added Diego Godin on a free transfer, Alexis Sanchez on loan plus signed Stefano Sensi, Nicolo Barella, Cristiano Biraghi and Valentino Lazaro,” the report begins.

“Inter have reinforced and become a complete team in every department. It was a pharaonic transfer window made to satisfy manager Antonio Conte.

“The window finished with a real bang with the sale of Icardi to Paris Saint Germain whilst Perisic and Nainggolan also left. Marotta was the king of the transfer market.”
