Inter Thinking About Extending Lautaro Martinez’s Contract

Having starred for Argentine over the international break, Inter are now thinking about how they wish to extend Lautaro Martinez’s contract with the club according to a report from Gazzetta dello Sport.

The young striker has seemingly established himself in the Albiceleste side and is in great scoring form having scored eight goals since Lionel Scaloni took charge of the national side, which is considerably more than anyone else has managed in that same time.

Lautaro is now in his second year with the club and is now getting a chance to play regularly having had to often settle for substitute appearances for most of last season.

The 22-year-old is currently under contract with the club through to the end of the 2022/23 season and has a €111 million release clause in his contract.

Other reports in the media in recent days have stated that Inter wish to tie him down to a new and improved deal to reflect his standing in the squad and it remains to be seen whether the release clause would remain in a new contract with Inter chief executive Giuseppe ‘Beppe’ Marotta not a fan of them.
