Inter Boss Conte Doesn’t Want Inter To Prioritise Serie A Over Champions League

Inter manager Antonio Conte is keen for his side to succeed in the Champions League with the Nerazzurri set to begin their campaign this evening at home to Slavia Prague according to a report from Corriere della Sera.

“The Champions League cannot take a backseat just because there is also the desire and feeling of being able to fight as equals with Juventus, who have won the last eight league titles,” the report from the Milan based news outlet begins.

“Conte has only went out in the group stage once. He reached the quarter-finals in his first year with Juventus before being eliminated by Bayern Munich and reached the second round with Chelsea before being eliminated by Barcelona.

“Now he wants to see the effect he makes in a complex group containing Borussia Dortmund and Lionel Messi’s Barcelona. For this reason, Inter cannot afford to slip up in the first match against Slavia Prague which Conte thinks will be difficult.”
