Inter Striker Lautaro Martinez Did What Antonio Conte Wanted From Him Last Night Against Barcelona

Lautaro Martinez did exactly what manager Antonio Conte wanted from him in last night’s Champions League group stage loss away to Barcelona in the eyes of Gazzetta dello Sport.

The Argentine striker gave Inter the lead just three minutes into the game and caused problems for Barcelona throughout the game, especially in the first half, where he very nearly doubled Inter’s lead but was spectacularly denied by Barcelona goalkeeper Marc Andre Ter Stegen. His goal was in fact the first time since 1970 that Inter managed to score on their travels to the Camp Nou.

The report also goes on to state that Romelu Lukaku is hard to work trying to get himself fit ahead of this weekend’s Derby D’Italia against Juventus. If fit, he will partner Lautaro Martinez in attack.
