Inter and AC Milan’s plans for a new stadium face even more difficulties from the local government, according to Rome based newspaper il Corriere dello Sport, with the councillors remaining unconvinced by both the selected projects.
Yesterday afternoon at the Palazzo Marino, a commission discussed the idea of demolishing the San Siro to build a new stadium, looking at the two projects selected by both the Milanese clubs, but the more councillors were against the idea than in favour of it.
The objective of the local government is to take their time in the decision-making process and ask for an extension of thirty days, in order to bring in an external party to assess the projects and their costs. The City considers this solution a priority, a fact that both Inter and AC Milan are unhappy with.
If the City decides against approving the project, the two clubs might decide to move the project to a new location in the Sesto San Giovanni suburb of Milan.
