Inter Left Back Cristiano Biraghi After Meeting The Pope: “It Was A Great Honour”

Inter left back Cristiano Biraghi expressed his joy on Instagram of meeting Pope Francis this morning following Italy’s qualification to next summer’s European Championships.

The Azzurri beat Greece 2-0 last night to guarantee their qualification to Euro 2020 with three games to spare, the first time in Italian football history. Biraghi didn’t feature in the victory but nonetheless was overjoyed at the result.

The 27-year-old posted a photo showing him shaking hands with the Pope alongside the caption: “It was a great honour.”
