Matteo Politano’s condition will be evaluated today to discover the extent of the injury he sustained against Borussia Dortmund according to a report in today’s print edition of Gazzetta dello Sport.

The Italian winger was injured very soon after coming on in the 3-2 loss following a collision with Dortmund defender Nico Schulz. Despite visibly struggling to even move around on the pitch, Politano battled through the pain to see the remainder of the game out.

As per the Milan based news outlet, the 26-year-old has sustained a fracture to his left ankle and the tests, which will be carried out this afternoon will confirm just how bad it is.

Politano, who joined Inter on a permanent basis this past Summer following a season long loan, will certainly miss Saturday’s match at home to Hellas Verona, which is Inter’s final match of what has been a packed few weeks for them.
