Inter & AC Milan’s Stadium Project May Not Move Forward Until Early July

Inter and AC Milan’s journey to a new stadium seems further and further away following the City Council’s decision to remove the possibility of demolishing the San Siro, according to a report from today’s paper edition of the Milano based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport.

The report details how the Milanese sides were keen to build a new €650 million facility, demolishing the current San Siro stadium in order to make space for the new buildings and stadium, but the City Council have removed that possibility and would prefer renovations to the existing stadium.

This set back has delayed the clubs’ dreams of a new stadium until early July, the report continues, as now a whole new project will have to be devised by the clubs and then it must again be presented to the City Council – unless the teams decide to move the existing project to a different area, with some suggestions that the project could be moved to the Sesto San Giovanni area of the city.
