Tension Growing Between Inter & AC Milan & City Council Over Future Of San Siro

Tensions are rising between Inter and AC Milan and the Milan city council when it comes to their new stadium project according to a report in today’s print edition of La Repubblica.

The clubs met with the council yesterday but they are no further forward to knowing what the future holds for their current San Siro home.

The two clubs want to demolish San Siro completely and build hotels, offices and commercial spaces on the land but the city council want to save the stadium from being bulldozed, which means Inter and AC Milan will not be able to build the things above as there simply will not be space to do so.

It has been suggested that San Siro could be downsized from three tiers to two or even one and used for youth and women’s football but that still would not help the clubs as the stadium would still be in the way.
