Inter chief executive Giuseppe ‘Beppe’ Marotta is refusing to let himself get carried away by the fact that Inter find themselves at the top of the table almost at the halfway stage of the 2019/20 season.

The Nerazzurri sit top with 37 points to their name from a possible 42 having made a club record start and currently hold a one point lead on arch-rivals Juventus.

“It is still only Week 14, so we are well aware that winning the Scudetto in this first season of the new project will be difficult,” he told gathered reporters at an event he attended earlier on tonight.

“Juve have two very strong teams that they can call upon, as they have two players for every role, and I think they will do it again this season.”

He concluded: “In any case, I will admit that I did not expect Antonio Conte to make such an immediate impact on our squad.”
