Inter Manager Conte: “The Result Is A Shame Because I Think We Deserved To Win”

In an interview with Inter TV, Antonio Conte spoke on his team’s performance in their 0-0 draw at home to Roma on Friday night.

“I consider this draw as something positive, given the commitment the guys showed, they really gave it everything. I am very happy, even if these are games in which we have to score,” he started.

“We created some important scoring chances, but we were inaccurate in front of goal. Roma did not trouble us and I do not remember them having any big opportunities.

“The result is a shame because I think we deserved to win. Now we must recover our energy and try to keep the players available for Tuesday’s match.

“It is never easy to play against Roma, because today they had a lot of dribblers and they could have created problems for us. My boys done well to get the ball off of them. We must continue like this.

“The fact we got a clean sheet is a positive but we failed to score and that is a negative. Lukaku, Lautaro, Vecino and Brozovic all could have scored as they all had nice chances but congratulations to the team who gave it their all.

“I did not like the sounds of disapproval that came from a section of the fans during the game. The team should be supported even when things go wrong. Only when we are all together can we have success.”

In conclusion he spoke on the upcoming match against Barcelona: “I am calm and now we must think about Tuesday. It will be difficult but we can do it together.”
