A report in today’s paper edition of the Turin based newspaper La Stampa analysed Inter’s goalless draw against Roma on Friday, noting the Nerazzurri’s strange failure to find the back of the net.
The report details how Inter made many strong chances throughout the game but failed to capitalise and in the end paid the price with the dropped points.
However, Inter coach Antonio Conte’s anxiety regarding the lack of squad depth is palpable, with the coach being forced to play the same options in every game due to a lack of viable alternatives. A situation exacerbated by multiple injuries in the Nerazzurri’s midfield, with Stefano Sensi, Nicolo Barella and Roberto Gagliardini all out injured.
However, Conte will need to keep his mental strength, the report continues, as the Nerazzurri’s next game against Barcelona is crucial if the Milanese club are to progress to the next round of the Champions League.
Qualification to the next stage ensures more money available to spend in the January transfer market, a period of time Conte will be hoping to strengthen his squad in as much as possible.
