Inter vs Barcelona Will Set Italian Football Record For Ticket Revenue

Inter will set an Italian football record for ticket revenue for tomorrow night’s Champions League group stage match at home to Barcelona according to a report from Gazzetta dello Sport.

Ticket revenue will exceed the current record of €6.5 million, which was set when Inter played host to Juventus earlier on this season.

This new record will be set despite the fact there will be approximately 8000 empty seats at San Siro. Thousands of seats have been cordoned off for some time now due to safety concerns whilst seats in the away end will be empty with it understood Barcelona have only taken up half of their allocation.

The report from the Milanese newspaper states that around 72,000 people in total will be present as Inter look to progress to the Champions League knockout stages.

Barcelona are already through and are through as group winners which has led to suggestions that they may field a weakened team, something which would undoubtedly help Inter in their pursuit of progression.
