Inter do not wish to think about the prospect of having to pursue an alternative in the event they cannot sign Arturo Vidal for the time being but have identified two alternatives just in case according to a report in today’s print edition of Tuttosport.

Vidal is deemed the Nerazzurri club’s number one transfer target and Barcelona seem completely unwilling to drop below their €20 million demands at the moment.

If Barcelona’s stance on the 32-year-old Chilean international continues, Inter could go in for either one of Cagliari’s Nahitan Nandez or Tottenham Hotspur’s Christian Eriksen.

Nandez is a far more similar player to Vidal in terms of his characteristics but Inter would be left with a big decision on their hands with regard to Eriksen.

Eriksen is available on a free transfer this Summer but Inter could risk being outbid by other clubs if they leave it until then. Therefore, they will need to seriously think about whether to pay Spurs the €20 million they want in order to sign him in January instead if signing Vidal does not happen.
