Sky Sport Italia transfer market expert Gianluca Di Marzio has provided an update on Inter’s pursuit of Barcelona’s Arturo Vidal as part of his television show, Calcio Mercato L’Originale.

“I think Inter have done a lot and Conte has also exposed his intentions. Vidal has promised Conte that he will only leave Barcelona to play under him in Milan,” he explained.

“The move no longer depends on the Nerazzurri nor the player’s salary but it all comes down to Barcelona who have yet to decide whether to let the player leave or not.”

He concluded by commenting on the relationship between the Chilean international and Barcelona manager Ernesto Valverde: “Vidal cannot stand Valverde anymore and if Valverde stays, Vidal does not want to be at Barcelona anymore.”

This season Vidal has made 20 appearances across all competitions. In 811 minutes on the field, he has scored six goals and provided a single assist.
