Inter chief executive Giuseppe ‘Beppe’ Marotta has confirmed that Arturo Vidal is among the club’s targets for this transfer window.

“At the moment there are many rumours linking us with several names. We are certainly at work,” he told the gathered media at the presentation of the new Panini sticker album.

“Generally speaking, what does not happen in the morning will happen in the evening, you know how it works. It is the right decision to do something this transfer window because this is an important time for Inter.”

He was then asked about Vidal.

“He is one of our targets. The most important things in January will be sorted at the end of it. In order to improve our squad we need to sign important targets who help us take on difficulties.”

Marotta was also asked about the reported pursuit of Tottenham Hotspur’s Christian Eriksen and Inter’s chances of winning the Serie A title but chose to avoid answering those questions.
