Valentino Lazaro prefers the idea of a move to RB Leipzig over Newcastle United according to a report from British news outlet The Daily Star.

Newcastle appeared to be in pole position to land the 23-year-old defender but he looks set to snub them in favour of a return to the Bundesliga, just six months after leaving the league to join Inter.

The Austrian international favours a move to high-flying Leipzig over the Magpies due to the fact he believes he is better suited for Bundesliga football rather than the Premier League.

The chance of winning the Bundesliga title this season is also believed to really appeal to Lazaro, who joined Inter in a circa €20 million deal.

Since his arrival at the Nerazzurri, the former RB Salzburg player has struggled for regular game time. He has made 11 appearances across all competitions but just four of those appearances have come as a starter. In 513 minutes, he has tallied two assists.
