Newcastle midfielder Valentino Lazaro, who recently left Inter to join the English club on loan, spoke about his decision to choose the side in an interview in today’s paper edition of the Austrian newspaper KronenZeitung.
“The choice was up to me. I took some time with my agent to understand what would be best, the two most concrete proposals came from Newcastle and RB Leipzig. I wanted to try to live up to the standard in the Premier League, to show off in the best league in the world is something special.”
The 23-year-old Austrian then discussed a potential return to Inter in the future.
“Only I will decide what will happen in my future. Antonio Conte hopes that I return to Milan strengthened by this experience. It may also be that I stay at Newcastle and maybe attract other Premier League clubs. If I do well, it would have a different effect for him than the choice to return to Germany. In England you’re more on display.”
