In an interview with Italian broadcaster Rai Sport, Inter goalkeeper and club captain Samir Handanovic gave some brief thoughts following on from the team’s disappointing 1-1 draw at home to Cagliari.
Inter took the lead through Lautaro Martinez just before the half hour mark and had plenty chances to add to their goal tally but failed to do so before Radja Nainggolan pulled the visitors back level.
Even after the team’s were level again Inter had a number of chances but they lacked the clinical edge to finish them and had to settle for a point rather than three in what should have been a comfortable victory for Antonio Conte’s men.
“We could and should have won but we did not take advantage of the chances we created. It is not the referee’s fault that we drew at home,” he remarked.
The 35-year-old made his 28th appearance of the season and has conceded 28 goals across those appearances and kept eight clean sheets.
