Respected Italian football journalist Mario Sconcerti dedicated part of his weekly column in Milan based newspaper Corriere della Sera to Inter manager Antonio Conte.
Conte took charge of Inter this past Summer and has Inter sitting in second place in the Serie A table just three points off of leaders Juventus after 21 games played.
“Inter have eight more points than they did a year ago thanks to Antonio Conte, who managed to claw back a 16 point gap in his first season at Juventus,” he began his column.
“He has done an excellent job so far and can be forgiven in this moment of weakness but Inter have been more tired than usual. This is because Inter only have a few options in the midfield and a few options in the attack.”
Sconcerti also commented on Danish international attacking midfielder Christian Eriksen’s arrival at Inter from Premier League side Tottenham Hotspur: “Eriksen is a good purchase for Inter.”
