Reigning Brazilian and South American champions Flamengo have announced the signing of Gabriel ‘Gabigol’ Barbosa from Inter moments ago via their official Twitter account.

The Rubonegro released a video via their official Twitter account with the caption: “Confirmed! Gabigol is a Manegao.”

This follows a statement from the player himself moments earlier where he confirmed that he would be staying with Flamengo via a Tweet from his official Twitter account.

In neither announcement is there a mention of any transfer fees but several reports in Italy and Brazil all report that Flamengo have bought 80% of the rights to Gabigol for a fee of €17-19 million with the Nerazzurri retaining 20% ownership.

This effectively guarantees the club 20% of any future transfer fees for the player should he be sold in the future.
