In an interview with Italian broadcaster Rai Sport, which was broadcast earlier on today, Inter goalkeeper Daniele Padelli has reflected on the team’s performance in their 2-0 win over Udinese during the weekend.
“In the first half we suffered a bit with Udinese’s counter attacks. They are an excellent team and play very well when playing at home. In the second half we changed the game in our favour and things went a bit more downhill for us,” the 34-year-old, who has previously represented the likes of Torino, began.
Next he discussed the race for the Serie A title with Juventus, Inter and Lazio all near enough neck and neck with one another in the race.
“The race for the title is open, there are many teams fighting and we are there. We don’t have to make many proclamations. We have to work, score points and then in the end we will see where we are.”
He concluded the interview by speaking on how it felt to make his league debut for his boyhood heroes.
Padelli came in for his first league appearance two and a half years on from joining Inter on a free transfer from Udinese and gave a good account of himself as he kept a clean sheet.
This was Padelli’s only appearance to date this season and his third appearance overall for the club with the other two appearances coming in the Coppa Italia.
“At the beginning there was a bit of emotion especially because it was my debut in Serie A for Inter, which is something I dreamed of as a child. The emotions passed and I did what I had to do.”
