Inter and AC Milan recently presented revised plans to the Milan city council relating to their new stadium project and in today’s print edition, La Repubblica have provided some details of those new look plans.
The two clubs had initially wanted to completely demolish San Siro as part of their grand new stadium project to make way for commercial spaces, hotels and offices among other things but the city council were completely opposed to the idea and asked the clubs to go back to the drawing board.
As per the report, the clubs have presented plans that will see San Siro partially demolished and restructured to allow it to become a sporting citadel.
If the clubs plans are approved, San Siro would be reduced to its first tier with one Curva and one tower remaining also.
The report from the Rome based newspaper goes on to add that there has also been a breakthrough between the parties when it comes to when Inter and AC Milan will begin paying for the lease.
The clubs initially wanted to pay after 32 years but it has since been agreed that they will pay from the moment they start life in their new stadium.
The parties do still however need to find an agreement when it comes to the amount of hotels, commercial spaces and restaurants that will be built.
