In an interview with FCInterNews.it, Nicolas Russo, the president of Superliga Argentina side Lanus, has spoken on the reported interest from several clubs in his club’s starlet Pedro De La Vega.

Russo began the interview by discussing the excitement that the club have for the Argentine youth international, who has drawn links to Inter among many other sides as of late.

“We have very high hopes for him. Even if today he is not a fixed starter, every time he enters the field he makes an impact in the game,” he started.

“He is an attack minded player with a lot of technique and ability to change the game. For us he is an important player. We believe in him, we expect a quality performances and in the future, we will sell him for an important sum of money.”

He then went on to praise the youngster for his attitude.

“He is a very strong minded boy with a good head on his shoulders. He is an educated young man. He is focused on his goals.”

Russo then proceeded to reveal that he has held talks with Inter vice president Javier Zanetti in the past about De La Vega.

“Some time ago Zanetti talked to me about Pedro, even if a concrete proposal never came from the Nerazzurri. In reality, however, there are several clubs in Europe interested in the player. However, we want him to remain, at least and at least until June. Although we hope he will stay until June 2021.”

In conclusion he was asked if he already has a price in mind for when clubs come knocking on their door to sign him.

“I’m not talking about money. What I will say though is it would be important for us to gain a % of a future resale. We are sure that when he is ready, he will go to Europe and prove to be a good player.”

The 18-year-old winger is under contract with the Buenos Aires based club until the end of the 2022/23 season. This season he has made 12 appearances across all competitions. In just under 300 minutes on the park, he has scored two goals.
