Barcelona are unsure about paying the €111 million release clause in Lautaro Martinez’s Inter contract according to a report from Spanish newspaper Sport.
The reigning Spanish champions have followed the 22-year-old for some time and are understood to see him as a potential heir to the ageing Luis Suarez but as per the report, they feel there are more interesting signings out there than Lautaro and many of them, they feel, represent better value for money.
Reports elsewhere in the media have suggested that Barcelona could offer some players as part of a deal for the young Argentine international but Sport insist that Barcelona do not wish to conduct any swap deals.
Barcelona certainly like Lautaro Martinez as do several other clubs, therefore Barcelona do not wish to go crazy and will not allow themselves to be caught up in a bidding war especially when they have other targets in mind.
This season Lautaro, who joined Inter in the Summer of 2018, has 16 goals in 29 appearances across all competitions.
